2. Chrono Trigger
While the US may have missed out on Seiken
Densetsu 3, Squaresoft more than made up for it with Chrono Trigger.
While most RPGs bog themselves down with needlessly long storylines
and pointless mini-games, Chrono Trigger takes a different approach.
It pulls you in and doesn't let go until it's highly charged,
fast-paced, story comes to a close. Clocking in at just over
10 hours, Chrono Trigger is the kind of no nonsense RPG the gaming
community needs more of. Battles take place on the same board
as the rest of the game, and none of them are random. Players
can see and avoid many of the game's fights long before they
start. With it's delightful cast of characters and intelligent
storyline, it's no wonder Chrono Trigger is still the single
most sought after Super Nintendo game, selling at prices upwards
of $100 per cartridge. |
