During my time in Sheffield, I saw a pair of construction workers pause at the display window of a jewelry store. “So y’ goin t’bling it up, then?” said one to the other. Hearing that phrase in his largely unintelligible Sheffield accent gave me pause; I stopped and reflected on everything wrong I had ever done in my life. In that moment, I resolved to become a better person.
